GENETIC ATTRIBUTES (SUSCEPTIBILITY AND PROTECTIVE ALLELES) OF THE MOTHER AND THE FETUS CONTRIBUTE TO THE RISK OF DEVELOPING FASD AND SPECIFIC ADDITIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS, INCLUDING MALNUTRITION, HAVE AN IMPORTANT ROLE.
