SECOND, WE INCORPORATED INFORMATION ON THE GASTRIC CANCER CARCINOGENESIS AFFECTED BY GENOMIC RISK FACTORS (INCLUDING INHERITED SUSCEPTIBILITY AND IRREVERSIBLE GENOMIC CHANGES) BASED ON LITERATURE TO GENERATE A GENETIC AND EPIGENETIC RISK ASSESSMENT MODEL BY USING A SIMULATED COHORT IDENTICAL TO THE MATSU POPULATION. THE COMBINATION OF CONVENTIONAL AND GENOMIC RISK FACTORS ENABLES US TO DEVELOP THE PERSONALIZED TRANSITION RISK SCORES AND COMPOSITE SCORES. RESULTS: THE STATE-BY-STATE TRANSITION RATES PER YEAR WERE 0.0053, 0.7523, 0.1750, AND 0.0121 PER YEAR FROM NORMAL MUCOSA TO CHRONIC ACTIVE GASTRITIS, CHRONIC ACTIVE GASTRITIS TO ATROPHIC GASTRITIS, ATROPHIC GASTRITIS TO INTESTINAL METAPLASIA, AND INTESTINAL METAPLASIA TO GASTRIC CANCER, RESPECTIVELY. COMPARED WITH THE MEDIAN RISK GROUP, THE MOST RISKY DECILE HAD A 5.22-FOLD RISK OF DEVELOPING GASTRIC CANCER, AND THE LEAST RISKY DECILE AROUND ONE-TWELFTH OF THE RISK. THE MEDIAN 10-YEAR RISK FOR GASTRIC CANCER INCIDENCE WAS 0.77%. THE MEDIAN LIFETIME RISK FOR GASTRIC CANCER INCIDENCE WAS 5.43%. BASED ON CURRENT RESEARCH, THE MAIN RISK FACTOR FOR LCNS MAY BE AIR POLLUTION. A RECENT CASE-CONTROL STUDY IN KOREANS REPORTED THAT NITROGEN DIOXIDE (NO2) MAY BE A RISK FACTOR FOR LCNS. ADDITIONALLY, A COHORT STUDY SHOWED THAT EXPOSURE TO NO2 WAS ASSOCIATED WITH SIGNIFICANT HYPOMETHYLATION. THUS, EPIGENETIC EPIDEMIOLOGY STUDIES ARE NEEDED IN THE NEAR FUTURE TO EVALUATE THE CARCINOGENESIS OF LCNS ACCORDING TO CHRONIC EXPOSURE TO AIR POLLUTION AND/OR VIRAL INFECTIONS. 2018 20 6835 18 [INFLUENCE OF AGE OF PATIENTS WITH BRONCHOPULMONARY PATHOLOGY ON LOW-MOLECULAR DNA CONCENTRATION IN BLOOD PLASMA.]. THE AIM OF THE WORK WAS TO DETERMINE THE CONCENTRATION OF LOW-MOLECULAR-WEIGHT PLASMA DNA (LMDNA) IN PATIENTS WITH COPD AND CHRONIC NON-OBSTRUCTIVE BRONCHITIS (CNONB) OF TWO AGE GROUPS - 34-59 AND 60-80 YEARS. THE LEVELS OF LMDNA IN HEALTHY DONORS, PATIENTS WITH CNONB, HEALTHY RELATIVES OF PATIENTS WITH COPD DID NOT DIFFER, WHILE THE CONCENTRATION OF LMDNA IN PATIENTS WITH COPD WAS SIGNIFICANTLY LOWER. IN COPD PATIENTS AGED 34-59 YEARS, THE LEVEL OF LMDNA WAS REDUCED BY MORE THAN 7 TIMES, AND IN COPD PATIENTS WHO SURVIVED TO 60-80 YEARS, IT WAS 3 TIMES LOWER COMPARED TO THE VALUE OF THIS BIOCHEMICAL INDICATOR IN HEALTHY DONORS OF THE SAME AGE. THE REDUCTION OF LMDNA REFLECTED A REDUCED SYSTEMIC APOPTOTIC ACTIVITY IN THE BODY OF PATIENTS WITH COPD. A SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCE IN THE CONCENTRATION OF LMDNA IN PATIENTS WITH COPD AND CNONB IN REMISSION CAN BE USED FOR DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSIS OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF THESE PATHOLOGICAL PROCESSES. AN INCREASE IN THE LOW LEVEL OF LMDNA IN COPD PATIENTS DURING AGING MAY INDICATE THE INVOLVEMENT OF EPIGENETIC MECHANISMS IN LIFE EXTENSION. 2022
